Je t’aime, Paris

Paris in the summer – bathed in sunlight.
Wrought-iron balconies overflowing with red geraniums.
Baguettes laden with French butter and apricot jam.
A jazz song in Jardin du Luxembourg.
Plump strawberries and entrecote steak at Rue Cler.
Summer solstice with street parties
Carousel rides and macaroons from Maison du Chocolat.
A gaggle of tourists on their way up to the bell tower at Notre Dame for a rendezvous with Quasimodo.
Pony rides and candy floss at Jardin des Tuileries.
Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile behind a barricade.
Pei’s glass pyramid framed by the glorious Louvre and a cirrus streaked blue sky at sundown.
Creamy brie and camembert from Le Bon Marche.
Burgundy escargots swimming in garlic pesto and rose wine from Cote du Provence.
Crabby portrait artists at Montmartre
A view of the Eiffel Tower from Sacre Coeur and fresh tomatoes with crusty bread.
Rose shaped raspberry sorbet on a cone.
A blazing sun and boatrides on the Seine.
Beautiful French women flicking cigarette ash.
Flaky croissant dipped in French coffee.
The Seine shimmering in the late evening moonshine.
A full moon peeping from behind 19th century terraces.
The lights of Champs Elysses from an aircraft window.

Au revoir Paris, till we meet again.

to add a few,, Sunsets over bridges and statuettes springing out of street corners, gothic and renaissance, baroque & rococo, blended with spider glazing, gorgeous glass storefronts of a myriad of brands.. shops, and cafes, bars and bistros, and then some more cafes.. lining streets oozing soul and character..

  7. @B - Future of single Europe seems to be bleak. All the rich countries grumbling about the rest. The Swiss are sure they wont join the Euro etc. Very complicated. But still beautiful and the place to be.
